O'Sullivan among players through to World Championship last 16
Stuart Bingham 10-4 David Gilbert
Bingham took his 6-3 lead from the Saturday session and conceded one frame straight away on Sunday morning before advancing to the second round with four frames in a row, where the Englishman now faces Mark Allen or Zhengyi Fan as his next opponent.
Neil Robertson 10-3 Wu Yize
Robertson left very little doubt on Sunday afternoon, who would be among the last-16. In four consecutive frames, the 6-3 lead was built to 10-3. The Australian's opponent in the second round is Jack Jones, who surprised Ali Carter on Sunday night.
Luca Brecel 10-9 Ricky Walden
The encounter between Brecel and Walden became the first outright nail-biter of the tournament. The Belgian had taken a 6-3 lead with him from Saturday, but failed to shake off Walden. After a 9-6 interval, Walden still pulled the score completely even. Brecel kept his cool, at the decisive frame and may now prepare for a duel with Mark Williams or Jimmy Robertson.
Ali Carter 6-10 Jak Jones
The first stunt of the tournament came down to Jak Jones who, as world number 52, eliminated the number 12 in Carter. He had entered the second session with a 5-4 lead and maintained his lead to eventually decide the match with three frames in a row. Neil Robertson is the Welshman's next opponent.
Junhui Ding 6-10 Hossein Vafaei
In this Chinese-Iranian match, Ding grabbed a lead on Sunday but Vafaei rallied to win. He will face a match against Ronnie O'Sullivan in the second round.
Mark Williams 10-5 Jimmy Robertson
On Sunday, Robertson took a lead against Williams, who, like O'Sullivan, is considered part of the famous 'class of 1992'. That wasn't enough to stop the latter from recovering though, with a match against Luca Brecel in the next round beckoning.
Mark Allen 10-5 Zhengyi Fan
Northern Irishman Allen emerged victorious against the Chinese and will take on Stuart Bingham in round two.
John Higgins v David Grace
Scot Higgins trounced Englishman Grace three times before in the past 12 years, winning each time by clear scores. They make a start to their first-round encounter on Monday afternoon.
Robert Milkins v Joe Perry
The battle between English compatriots and end-of-forties Milkins and Perry promises to be an exciting duel in advance, by matched players. Milkins is ranked higher in the world rankings, but managed to win only one of the previous 10 encounters against Perry.
