Statue of Brazil football icon Zico to be built in Rio
Eduardo Paes, mayor of Rio de Janeiro, has announced on social media that Brazilian legend Zico will be given a statue in celebration of his 70th birthday.
It will be erected in Quintino, the neighbourhood where the Flamengo and Udinese hero was born.
Paes took advantage of the announcement to open a vote, giving supporters three options for the ideal image of Zico to be portrayed.
The mayor, a Vasco da Gama fan, joked about the "misdeeds" the former Brazil star had done to the Flamengo club.
"To celebrate Zico's 70th birthday, despite the misdeeds he did to my Vasco, we're going to build a statue in Quintino...
"We are between three models and I want your opinion (...) so let's do it," Paes wrote on Twitter.
