22:46 BST - That's all for tonight! Join us again tomorrow for another exciting day at Wimbledon, which will be headlined by the beginning of Andy Murray's farewell tournament.

The 37-year-old will take the court with brother Jamie Murray for their doubles match against Australia's Rinky Hijikata and John Peers on Centre Court.

Murray will also be in action on Friday in the mixed doubles with Emma Raducanu, who is through to the third round of the women's singles after beating Elise Mertens on Wednesday.

21:32 BST - Jannik Sinner was made to work by compatriot Matteo Berrettini, but the men's world number one finally triumped 7-6(7/3), 7-6(7/4), 2-6, 7-6(7/4). It could have gone either way but Sinner held his nerve to progress to the next round where he will face Miomir Kecmanovic.

21:41 BST - The tie between Stan Wawrinka and Gael Monfils has been paused overnight, with Monfils two sets up and the score tied at 5-5 in the third. The match will resume on No. 2 court tomorrow at 11am.

21:20 BST - Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine has just beaten France's Varvara Gracheva 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(10/5) to bring down the curtain on today's women's ties, which saw ninth seed Maria Sakkari beat Arantxa Rus and Sloane Stephens beaten by Diana Shnaider.

20:31 BST - Roland Garros surprise package and rising Itialian star Jasmine Paolini has made short work of Belgium's Greet Minnen in London, winning 7-6 (7/5), 6-2 to progress to the third round. It was Minnen who beat Britain's Heather Watson in the first round of Wimbledon on Monday.

18:24 BST - Emma Raducanu is into the third round of Wimbledon after an emphatic 6-1, 6-2 win against world number 33 Eloise Mertens.

The Brit will face either Maria Sakaari or Arantxa Rus in the next round.

Fan favourite Naomi Osaka has crashed out after suffering a 4-6, 1-6 defeat to Emma Navarro.

17:20 BST - Dan Evans has crashed out of Wimbledon in the second round, losing 2-6, 5-7, 3-6 to Chile's Alejandro Tabilo.

17:08 BST - Eighth seed Casper Ruud has been knocked out by mercurial Italian Fabio Fognini in four sets. The Norwegian, who has never been beyond the second round at Wimbledon, lost 4-6, 5-7, 7-6(1), 3-6.

Daniil Medvedev has also sailed through, surviving an early scare to beat Frenchman Alexandre Muller 6-7(3), 7-6(4), 6-4, 7-5.

16:33 BST - Carlos Alcaraz is through! He smashes Aleksander Vukic in straight sets to advance to the third round.

15:45 BST - A couple more results to bring you on the women's side of the tournament, with Jule Niemeier thrashing Viktorija Golubic 6-2, 6-1 and Camila Osorio sweeping past Lauren Davis 6-3, 6-1.

Meanwhile, last year's quarter-finalist Christopher Eubanks has been knocked out after a comprehensive 4-6, 4-6, 2-6 defeat to Quentin Halys.

14:56 BST  - The rain has finally relented and play is underway on all the courts. Meanwhile, Coco Gauff has sealed a supremely confident victory over Anca Alexia Todoni, cruising to an impressive 6-2, 6-1 win over her opponent. The American has an incredible chance to go on and reach the final here at Wimbledon, landing on the easier side of the draw which opened up even more with the withdrawal of Aryna Sabalenka.

13:39 BST - Some play is finally underway at Wimbledon with Coco Gauff taking on Anca Alexia Todoni - although the majority of games are still halted due to rain.

Daniil Medvedev and Casper Rudd are both in action on the men's side of the draw too.

12:37 BST - The rain is falling, the covers are on and play has been suspended on the outside courts. We'll keep you updated with any further news.

While the gloomy weather persists in London, there is some exciting breaking news to bring you with Andy Murray pairing up with fellow Brit and Grand Slam champion Emma Raducanu for the mixed doubles event this year.
