Tottenham are in discussion with with Google over a naming rights deal for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to The Athletic, Spurs have held “meaningful talks” with the technology giant to sponsor the £1 billion arena, which opened in 2019.

Club chairman Daniel Levy had previously said he was open to securing a naming rights deal, but admitted he would only agree to one with the “right brand, on the right money”.

Tottenham’s stadium is likely to prove an attractive venue for Google, having successfully held its second NFL double header over the past two weekends.

Alongside Premier League and Champions League football, the 62,850-capacity stadium has also held rugby league’s Challenge Cup final, boxing world title fights and numerous big-name concerts.

Should an agreement be reached, it would spell success for the club’s chief commercial officer Todd Kline, who was drafted in by Levy last year to aid his search for a deal.

Kline, a former NFL executive, helped Florida-based side Miami Dolphins secure a naming rights deal for their stadium, thought to be worth $250 million (£226m) across 18 years.
